Life on Earth is hard.

Moonride is built on the simple belief that people deserve a little escapism. The Moonride Trading Post delivers that sense of escape at the intersection of storytelling, visual art and retail.

Moonride creates a space of infinite world building centered in the (imaginary) distant solar system of Zolcentra. The Moonride Trading Post is an interstellar artist-first marketplace featuring fanciful cosmic characters, planets and cultures.

Bring home a souvenir to remind you of a world outside life on Earth.

Pop-up @ 1302 5th

Step inside our pop-up shop at 1302 5th Avenue in downtown Seattle to cross into an intergalactic marketplace, stocked with art and goods "from across the universe."

Nearly every object on the shelf comes with a backstory: a fictional creature, culture, or species from some distant planet you've never heard of (yet). Handcrafted art pieces, wearable goods, and cosmic treasures designed to pull into a world beyond this one.

About the Artist

Stevie Hues is a multi-media artist known for vibrant colors, flowing line-work, and a 90’s cartoon aesthetic. Stevie graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2009, predominantly working in design, animation, mural painting, and illustration. Stevie's work embraces messiness and improvisation, making each piece a unique one-of-a-kind experience and highlighting human imperfection. You'll often see their work exploring themes of queerness and what it means to be an outcast or perceived as different.

Moonride uses outer space and imagined alien characters to create commentary on earthlings from an outside perspective. What would visitors from a distant planet actually think of the way we do things here? The way we treat each other? The way we treat our planet?

There are a lot of very serious, heavy and hard things we face in our life here on Earth. The intention of Moonride is to address those hard truths through a lighthearted lens of absurdity and whimsy.
